This year the long hard winter and late onset of Spring meant that roses were in short supply for the annual flower carpet that is laid at All Saints’, South Wimbledon for the festival of Corpus Christi. Nevertheless, thanks to some early flowering blooms in the church garden and the resourcefulness of parishioners and friends in scouring their gardens – and those of their neighbours – there were more than enough to complete the designs.
